If the waffles stick to the plates, it could be because of the type of mixture being used. Waffle mixes with low sugar can be cooked at higher temperatures, while waffles with high sugar mixes require a lower temperature to stop the outside caramelising before the interior has cooked. Using spray oil can also help reduce incidents where the waffle sticks to the plates.
