You wouldn’t expect to be served a brew made with dirty water, would you?
Coffee and Espresso machines use both hot water AND steam which means chlorine and limescale left in standard mains water can impair the taste of the beverage.
The perfect coffee should be between 80-120 PPM, however if you leave water at this hardness you sacrifice the longevity of your appliance. Claris Ultra filters locks water hardness to between these figures ensuring that you have the hardness for taste but it doesn’t leave scale deposits when heated.
If you live in a hard water area (Click here for hard water map), you will require a Claris Ultra Filtration Kit.
If you live in a soft water area (Click here for hard water map), the water should still be treated for taste and odour. This is due to all UK mains water having added chlorine in it, which can severely affect the taste of food & drink.
