Cold rooms are the ideal chilled storage solution for commercial environments where chest/counter refrigeration no longer provides enough storage space.
Remote refrigeration units are considered to be the most reliable, and the most popular option of refrigeration units when it comes to cold rooms. They are ideal where integral units are not; in hot or confined spaces where ventilation is limited such as a commercial kitchen.
Although the initial capital cost is often more than that for an integral units, remote units are usually much more efficient in the long run.
With a remote refrigeration unit the compressor and the other elements that can be hot and noisy are located away from the cold room its self, and is connected by insulated pipes that carry the heat away from the unit. This not only means that the heat is taken away from the unit its self to increase efficiency, but noise around the unit is also reduced; prefect for a commercial kitchen where communication is essential during food service times.
Remote units are however more complex to install, and will usually require a site survey and a specialist engineer to install the unit.
