How do you light ethanol chafing gel?
Lighting ethanol chafing gel is easy! Firstly, pop the lid off with a suitable tool - not a sharp knife or anything that could injure you if you accidentally slip. Next, pop the opened fuel canister beneath your chafing dish. Once in place, simply touch a (safe) naked flame to the opened can. To avoid any unfortunate accidents, avoid lighting your chafing fuel with another lit canister. Also, never light your fuel before it's safely in place as carrying a hot canister can be tricky.
How long does chafing fuel last?
This depends on the type you're using. Most last between 2 to 6 hours.
Does chafing fuel expire?
Technically, no. However, for best results it's advised you use it within two years of purchase.
Can you reuse chafing fuel?
Again, this depends on the type of fuel you're using. Gel fuels usually cannot be reused as the canister itself holds the flame. Liquid fuels like CB733 usually contain a wick, however, meaning they can be extinguished with their re-sealable cap and used again at a later date.
